Carved desk tops hanging at the chapter house. This has been a tradition at the chapter for decades. Purdue Pig Dinner honoring Eugene "Gene" A. Cernan (Purdue 1956). As of the time of the dinner, Brother Cernan was one of 12 men to have walked on the moon and was the "Last Man on the Moon" as he was the last to enter the moon lander for Apollo 17. Brother Cernan served on the Gemini 9A, Apollo 10 and Apollo 17 missions. Purdue was celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission in which the first men walked on the moon.
